IMDOS 1st Steering Committee Meeting
GEO Blue Planet is convening the first meeting of the Steering Committee for the Integrated Marine Debris Observing System (IMDOS) initiative. The Steering Committee is the main decision-making body, formed by two committees:
1. The Advisory Committee providing advice on high level strategic directions and connections. It helps identify and, where possible, contribute resources. (ex Officio seats)
2. The Work Programme Committee is responsible for coordinating IMDOS activities. It is made up of Task Teams chairs.
Following the Call for Participation opened from early July to the end of September 2024, co-chairs from the 11 Task Teams have been appointed and the Advisory Committee members invited.
This first meeting will allow newly appointed members to explore the IMDOS strategy adopted in November 2023 by the interim Scientific Committee. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss and foster the implementation of the IMODS strategy by defining action plans for each Task Team.
