The short abstract submission system has been re-opened to receive submissions for poster-only presentations. Visit the abstract submission page for details. Nearly 250 abstracts were received by the May 2nd deadline, and the review process to assign those abstracts for either oral or poster presentation is underway. This opportunity to submit abstracts for consideration as poster-only presentations will remain open as long as poster display space remains available, and the capacity of the conference centre has not been exceeded.
Conference topics will include the science of optics across all aquatic environments, research and applications including (but not limited to) Biogeochemistry, Environmental Management and Applications, Instruments, Techniques and Observational Systems, Remote Sensing, Phytoplankton Ecology, Radiative transfer and Optical Theory, Global Change, and Benthic Processes.
The conference attracts a diverse audience of active practitioners in this field including oceanographers, marine ecologists, limnologists, optical engineers, marine resource managers, and policy professionals from around the world. Attendees attend plenary presentations during the day, then interact with colleagues during scientific poster session receptions held in the exhibit/poster hall in the early evening.
In addition to invited and contributed oral and poster presentations, the conference also provides the opportunity for community-wide discussions in the form of Town Halls, Workshops and Short Courses. Small group meetings are also convened providing attendees with the opportunity to meet with collaborators or fellow committee members.
Please contact Conference Coordinator, Jenny Ramarui (jenny@tos.org) if you have any questions about registration or abstract submission.
