Nutrient Monitoring Across the GEO Work Programme Workshop
GEO Blue Planet is inviting participants from the GEO work programme and other initiatives to gather at Sorbonne University in Paris to explore collaboration opportunities in support of UNEP’s “Global Partnership on Nutrient Management” (GPNM). This strategic planning meeting, which will include the UNEP team backing the GPNM, aims to strengthen cooperation and develop a unified approach to promote a comprehensive, multidisciplinary monitoring system. The goal of this system is to provide data that can effectively inform and guide policy design through the GPNM workflow, promoting sustainable nutrient management and environmental protection on a global scale.
UNEP guides pilot countries to develop National Roadmap/Strategy/Plan through evidence-based approach. Without being prescriptive, the GPNM workflow will facilitate and accelerate the activities related to the development of a country’s strategy to address nutrient pollution.
