Sargassum and Oil Spills Monitoring Pilot Project for the Caribbean Sea & Adjacent Regions Workshop
2-4 May 2018
2-4 May 2018
Over the past years, the Caribbean region has faced challenges such as oil spills and an influx of floating sargassum seaweed. Sargassum beachings and coastal overabundance caused further challenges for the region with mats preventing the deployment and retrieval of fishing gear and clogging popular beaches, harbours, and bays. This workshop emerges in response to those challenges and brings international experts together to discuss sargassum and oil spill monitoring in the Caribbean and Adjacent regions.
